All appointments are via telehealth and are scheduled during school hours only. Clients are encouraged to book weekly or fortnightly appointments and it is always recommended that you book regular appointments ahead of time to ensure therapy can progress smoothly. You will be able to manage all your appointment needs through an online booking system.

What to expect in sessions

Typically, the first few sessions are spent conducting an assessment, to develop a thorough understanding of your circumstances and of you, as well as to determine your goals for therapy. It is important that you are comfortable with the psychologist, as well as with the approach and if you are not, you will be supported to find someone who is a better fit.

Standard sessions are 50 minutes duration. .

  • Fees and Rebates

Whilst you do not need a referral to see a psychologist, having one from your GP may entitle you to claim a Medicare rebate towards the cost of some of your appointments. You can attend sessions as a private client, or use a Mental Health Care Plan. Alternatively, I do accept referrals through Open Arms and DVA Gold Card.

With a GP Mental Health Care Plan, you may be eligible to a rebate of $141.85 for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. Please see your GP to discuss your eligibility. If you do have a GP Mental Health Care Plan, please ask your GP to forward a copy to me prior to your first session.

Consultation fees for private and MHCP clients are $200 per session and are due on the day of your session. They can be paid either by direct debit or processed through secure practice management software. This is a private billing practice and bulk billing is not available.

Members of some private health insurance funds may be entitled to a rebate. Please contact your fund directly to discuss this.  It is not possible to gain a rebate from Medicare and Private Health Insurance for the same session.

  • Cancellations

Please provide as much notice as possible if you need to cancel an appointment, so the session may be used by another client. A cancellation fee will be charged if less than 48hrs notice is given and this is not covered by Medicare or private health insurance. This will be discussed in detail in your first appointment.

  • Additional Information

I do not provide services for substance misuse, disordered eating, obsessive compulsive disorder, acute mental health, court-related matters, or workers compensation, and recommend seeking services for these concerns from a psychologist with specialist expertise.
